The Kremlin confirmed that the precautions related to the Corona pandemic were taken during the organization of the meeting that Russian President Vladimir Putin had with his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Assad last Monday.
“Of course, all necessary precautions have been taken,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Wednesday.
Peskov announced yesterday, Tuesday, that the Russian President met his Syrian counterpart before deciding to adhere to the self-isolation system due to the outbreak of Corona virus infections in the circle of those around him.
This came after Putin announced Tuesday that “given the multiplicity of infections with the Corona virus in the circle of those around him, he must adhere to the system of self-isolation for a certain period of time.”
Peskov denied that there was anything “illogical” in Putin’s meeting with Assad in these circumstances, noting that after contact with people infected with Corona, the Russian president remains in “absolute health.”
