Saudi Arabia and Iraq discuss accelerating trade exchange through Jdeidet Arar port

The Governor of the Saudi Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, Eng. Suhail Abanmi, and the Chairman of the Transport Authority, Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, met at the port with an Iraqi delegation, headed by the head of the Border Ports Authority, Dr. Omar Al-Waeli; Where the two sides discussed all challenges and ways to address them, and raise the pace of work and joint cooperation, which contributes to strengthening the economic and trade aspect between the two countries.
The Jdeidet Arar port is the only land link between the two countries. It was reopened on November 18, as an extension of the joint work efforts that bring them together through the Saudi-Iraqi Coordination Council.
The council aims to enhance communication between the two countries at the strategic level, open new horizons of cooperation in the economic, development, security, investment, tourism, cultural and media fields, in addition to enhancing cooperation between the two sides in important international and regional affairs, protecting common interests, and developing partnership between private sector companies in the two countries. Giving businessmen the opportunity to learn about commercial and investment opportunities, and adopting effective means that contribute to helping them exploit them.
