News 24 | National Day..approved by King Faisal and Abu Hajjar Palace hosted the first celebration


The Kingdom’s celebration of the National Day has officially begunKing Faisalj, for the first time in 1965 AD, when King Faisal bin Abdulaziz issued a royal decree that the first day of the Libra would be the beginning of the solar Hijri year, corresponding to September 23 of the Gregorian year; It is the Kingdom’s National Day.

The royal order stressed the need to allocate a specific national day for the Kingdom to be celebrated every year, according to the document revealed by the King Abdulaziz Foundation.

The Abu Hajjar Palace in Taif hosted the Kingdom’s first celebrations of the National Day, as it was the place where the founding king announced the launch of the name “Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” after unification.

The national occasions celebrated before then were; The “Royal Seating Day”, which is not a fixed occasion, during the reign of King Abdulaziz, it was January 8, and then it became November 12 during the reign of King Saud.
