belbalady The Spanish coach, Pep Guardiola, coach of Manchester City, refused to apologize for his statements about the fans’ support for his team, in the Leipzig match in the Champions League.

Guardiola, after Manchester City’s 6-3 victory over Leipzig in the Champions League, in the presence of 38,000 spectators, spoke and demanded more fans in tomorrow’s match against Southampton.

Guardiola’s comments did not impress Kevin Parker (general secretary of the official fan club), and criticized the Spanish coach.

“Mr Parker has to review the comments again, I will not apologize,” Guardiola said during the press conference for the Southampton match.

He added: “Did I say after the match that I was disappointed because the stadium was not full? I will not apologize, and I am surprised by what has happened since then.”

He continued: “When you play in the Champions League it is very difficult, knowing that Southampton had a week to prepare for the game, and I am taking an approach to do something together again.”

He continued: “What I said is that we love the support, we need more support, to have 40,000 or 50,000 fans in the stands, we need their support, I was very grateful for the support we got, we will be happy if more viewers come.”

And he continued: “I’d rather be with the fans than without them. If they don’t come, that’s perfect! And if you want to come, it’s my pleasure.”

And he concluded his statements by saying: “I have not had a problem with the fans, and I am one of them, and I try to do my best. I like to play in the Etihad stadium with the fans, this is my intention, tomorrow there will be fans, and we hope that Mr. Parker will be there to watch us.”

It is noteworthy that Manchester City will host Southampton, tomorrow, Saturday at 4:00 pm, in the fifth round of the English Premier League.
