The astronomical calculations conducted by the Institute of Astronomy revealed that the autumnal equinox begins today, Wednesday, September 22, with a length of 89 days, 20 hours and 38 minutes, until winter begins on December 21, with a length of 88 days, 23 hours and 35 minutes.

The summer season began on Monday, June 21, with a length of 92 days, 39 hours and 49 minutes, and the autumn semester begins today, Wednesday, September 22, with a length of 89 days, 20 hours and 38 minutes.

The reason for the occurrence of the four seasons is that the sun moves in an apparent orbit relative to the stars of the celestial background that appear fixed in the sky, and this orbit is known as the zodiac circle, explaining that as a result of the Earth’s rotation around the sun and the inclination of its axis at the level of its orbit, the four seasons occur, and in order they are winter, then spring, then summer and then fall.
