Majid Al Futtaim announced the launch of Carrefour City+, the region’s first cashier-free store. This new and comfortable branch, which opened on Monday in Mall of the Emirates, provides a fast, smooth and free of human contact experience, using the latest artificial intelligence technologies. Customers use their smartphones to enter the store, while selected goods and products are automatically added to their virtual basket when selected and easily checked out, without the need to queue at checkout boxes.
Carrefour City + was inaugurated, in the presence of Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications, along with Alain Bejjani, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Holding, and Hani Weiss, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Retail.
Customers can take advantage of the new store and its payment methods through the Carrefour MAF Carrefour application, where any item chosen by customers in Carrefour City+ is automatically added to the virtual shopping cart, to complete the purchase process as soon as they exit the store. This service provides a quick shopping experience completely free from any contact with the Carrefour team.

The Carrefour City+ store has more than 1,300 items, including snacks, beverages, canned food and ready-to-eat meals, as well as basic necessities. The new store is located near the entrance to the Mall of the Emirates from the metro station bridge, and provides the opportunity for anyone to experience the most advanced and easy shopping in the world.
