A Saudi doctor has warned of an increase in the rate of infection with the Corona virus among children in the Kingdom, indicating that research is underway on working to immunize children against the virus.
Dr. Khaled Ghalilah, an infectious disease consultant, said in a statement to Al-Ikhbariya channel, that “Saudi Arabia will be one of the first countries to reach a 70% immunization rate against the virus within two months.”
Ghalila added that “providing the vaccine in the current quantities is a major challenge for the state and the health sectors.”
He explained that “there is a small possibility of an increase in the percentage of cases of injuries among children,” noting that “research is underway on immunizing children under 12 years of age, and it is likely that it will come out within 6 months.”
He pointed out that “the Saudi Ministry of Health noticed the effects of the vaccine in terms of symptoms and corona mutations, which resulted in a decrease in the number of deaths.”
