The President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, signed Decree No. 8117 of August 24, 2021, “mandating the military and security forces and the municipal police to impose control over energy sources and organize their distribution, starting from 15/8/2021 to 15/9/2021, and working to unload and close all designated containers. To store fuel in violation of the rules and regulations in force on all Lebanese territories.

Also, President Aoun signed Decree No. 8118 dated August 25, 2021 to give the Ministry of Finance a treasury advance of 600 billion Lebanese pounds aimed at giving emergency social assistance to all public administration employees, regardless of their job titles (employees, contractors, procedures, military and security agencies, judges, corps Education in all its categories: primary, intermediate, secondary, vocational and technical education, and procedures), in addition to retirees who benefit from a retirement pension.

The value of the assistance is set at what is equal to the basis of the monthly salary or pension, without any increases of any kind or designation, provided that it is paid in two equal payments.
