Confirmed: The videos are old or not taken inside Jordan

After a Jordanian wave of anger, due to a video of a scandalous act on the street, the Public Security Directorate in Jordan warned, on Monday, that publishing and circulating immoral materials and content is against the law and public morals, and puts its publisher in front of legal accountability.

The directorate said in a statement published by the Jordan News Agency (Petra): The warning comes after the circulation of a video that appeared a few days ago on social media; Noting that it had taken the necessary legal measures against the person who appeared in it and who photographed and published it.

Al-Hurra channel quoted the “Amman.net” website, on Monday, that the Public Prosecutor at the East Amman Court decided to arrest a videographer of the Prius for a week in Marka prison, “on charges of interfering with the purpose of an act contrary to public modesty, displaying obscene material, and violating The sanctity of private modesty, in terms of the cybercrime law.

The media spokesman for the Public Security Directorate said: “The publication of such materials allows them to reach groups that the law criminalizes viewing them, such as children, and here lies another responsibility that requires all of us to wait and think carefully before publishing or recirculating it.”

The Public Security spokesman stressed that “the responsibility of those who receive such videos or those who film them must pass them on to the Public Security Directorate, which has opened several channels to communicate with it.”

The directorate also confirmed that “most of the videos being circulated are old, or they did not take place inside the Kingdom.”
