The committee in charge of managing the Egyptian club Zamalek announced the withdrawal of the congratulations presented to Al-Ahly, after winning the African Champions League title.
A statement issued by the committee, published on the official website, stated that it considers the congratulations as if it were not, as an objection to the lack of professionalism of Al-Ahly’s official pages in dealing with the news of the congratulations.
The statement added: “Instead of the ultimate goal, which is to spread sportsmanship and reject fanaticism, it was unfortunately met with ridicule and sarcasm on the official pages from the other side.”
And he continued: The committee in charge of managing the club also rejects the attack of a segment of the fans against the Zamalek club and the captain of the first football team, which increases the state of congestion among the great Zamalek fans everywhere, and accordingly it was decided to withdraw the congratulations.
He continued: “That abhorrent racism that appeared from Al-Ahly fans against Shikabala is something that cannot be accepted, especially with its repetition on several occasions, and unfortunately it is the product of what Al-Ahly’s pages write.”
The White Castle Committee issued a warning to Al-Ahly’s board of directors, that it will be responsible for what is happening of racism, cynicism and intolerance, if those who dealt with the news of the club’s congratulations on the official pages of Al-Ahmar are not held accountable in this way, according to the statement.
The committee in charge of managing the Zamalek club had officially congratulated Al-Ahly after winning the African Champions League for the second year in a row at the expense of the South African Kaizer Chiefs.
The celebrations of Al-Ahly fans on Al-Jazira, on Saturday evening, caused the anger of the Zamalek fans, after Al-Ahly supporters chanted insulting slogans for the player and leader of Zamalek, Mahmoud Shikabala.
