Tunisian tennis player Anas Jaber out of the “Tokyo 2020” Olympics

Tunisian tennis player Anas Jaber, ranked 23 in the world, was eliminated from the first round of the tennis competitions at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, after losing to Spain’s Carla Soares Navarro (206) 4-6, 1-6.
The Egyptian Mohamed Safwat was eliminated in the first round against the Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan 5-7, 1-6.
In football, Egypt suffered a first loss against Argentina, 0-1, in the second round of Group C competitions, while Saudi Arabia called off the competition with a 3-2 loss against Germany in Group D.
The Argentine team managed to settle its match against its Egyptian counterpart in the 52nd minute with a goal by Facundo Medina, while Saudi Arabia called out the competition by losing to the German team 2-3 at the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, after falling in the first round against Côte d’Ivoire 1-2 .
In weightlifting, Saudi weightlifter Siraj Al Saleem finished fifth in the 61 kg weight after lifting a total of 288 kg, and he was very close to winning the bronze medal if the judges canceled his last lift in the net.
In the fencing, the Egyptian Mohamed El-Sayed reached the final price of the sword competition before falling to Ukrainian Igor Rizlin, who won the bronze.
In taekwondo, the Egyptian Wael Abdel-Rahman was eliminated from the quarter-finals of the 68-kg weight category, losing to Bosnian Nedjad Husic 7-8.
Abdel Rahman had previously won the African Championship in Senegal this year, and he was crowned in 2018 in Morocco as well.
In shooting, Kuwaiti Abdullah Al-Rashidi, who won the bronze in the 2016 Rio Olympics, finished sixth on the first day of the skeet qualifiers with 74 points out of 75, while the Egyptian Azmi Muhaliba won 73 points and finished 13th, the other Kuwaiti Mansour Al-Rashidi won 71 points, and the Saudi Saeed Al-Mutairi /71/, Emirati Saif bin Fattis /70/, and Egyptian Mustafa Hamdi /67/.
In boxing, Algerian Mohamed Houmri qualified for the round of 16 in the weight of 75-81 kg, by defeating Venezuelan Nalik Korbach-Barrera with points 3-2, setting a date next Wednesday with Cuban Arlene Lopes.
In table tennis, Egyptian Dina Mishref will play in the third round with Dutch Brett Ireland, after defeating Poland’s Natalia.
