A Dutch physics student named Oliver Daemon, 18, traveled with Jeff Bezos and his brother Mark Bezos, and the pilot, Wally Funk, 82, to the edge of space, on an 11-minute flight, more than 60 miles above the Earth’s surface.
In his first comment from his landing site in the Texas desert, the Dutch teenager said to his father after cuddling: “Thank you very much, it was great,” according to the Daily Mail Online.”The trip was a life-changing experience,” said Oliver, who is now the fourth Dutchman to go into space.
He added, “Every second of this flight was incredibly intense (…) Seeing Earth from space was unforgettable.”
He continued, “Back on Earth, you realize how vulnerable our planet is in the vast galaxy.”
“I realize now more than ever that we have to be very careful with the ground. I want to contribute extensively to that,” Oliver added.
