Khaled El Darandali, a member of the Egyptian Al-Ahly board of directors, revealed the first decision that was taken after winning the African Champions League title.
Al-Ahly won the title, Saturday evening, after its victory over the South African Kaizer Chiefs 3-0 in the final, which was held at the “Mohammed V” stadium in Morocco.
The title is the tenth in Al-Ahly’s career in the championship, to continue its leadership on the throne of the Champions League, and it is the second in a row, after winning the 2020 edition.
Al-Dardali said in televised statements: “We will add the tenth star to Al-Ahly’s shirt immediately, because this achievement is exceptional.”
He added: “We lived through difficult moments, and great tension, and this was clear from the first day we arrived in Morocco, but we were able to achieve victory in this way, although the match was not easy at first.”
And he added: “We managed to win two consecutive Champions League titles in a short period of 6 months. This is an exceptional achievement, and we congratulate the great fans.”
He concluded: “We will now focus on the Egyptian leagues and the Club World Cup, as well as preparing to achieve the 11th title in our career in the African Champions League.”
