A spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Health, Muhammad Al-Abd Al-Aali, confirmed that the health status of the pilgrims is reassuring, and there are no infections with the Corona virus or deaths recorded among them.
This came during a press conference for the spokesman, during which he reviewed the conditions of pilgrims, according to what was reported by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Al-Abd Al-Aali said, “The health condition of the pilgrims is reassuring, and today no cases of coronavirus or any diseases affecting public health have been recorded.”
He added, “There were also no deaths recorded among the pilgrims.”
The pilgrims of the Sacred House of God, after sunset on Monday, the ninth of Dhul-Hijjah, set off to the “Muzdalifah” area, after standing on the level of Arafat and performing the major pillar of Hajj.
The Nafrah from Arafat to Muzdalifah is the third stage of the movement of pilgrims to the Holy Sites to perform the rites of Hajj, after the day of Tarwiyah and standing in Arafat.
On Monday morning, the pilgrims of the House of God flocked to the top of Mount Arafat, coming from Mina; They spent the “Day of Tarwiyah”, on the eighth of Dhul-Hijjah (Sunday), amid intensive precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the “Corona” virus.
Since last Saturday, the attention of the Islamic world has turned to Mecca, where pilgrims began to flock and perform the tawaf of arrival.
For the second year in a row, Saudi Arabia is holding the Hajj ritual with a limited number of pilgrims, amounting to only 60,000 from within the Kingdom, in light of strict health controls for fear of the repercussions of Corona.
The year 1441 AH (2020 AD) witnessed an exceptional Hajj season, as a result of the outbreak of Corona, as the number of pilgrims at that time was limited to about 10,000 only from inside Saudi Arabia, compared to about 2.5 million pilgrims, in 2019, from all over the world.
