The Organizing Committee of Ports and Border Points in Sharjah announced the implementation of all recommendations issued during the first half of this year related to the development of workflow to improve the overall performance of all ports of the emirate, and to provide facilities for the entry of goods and individuals while adhering to the necessary precautionary and preventive measures.

This came during the 7th regular meeting that was held recently at the Khatm Milaha border port in the city of Kalba, headed by Muhammad Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjah, and was attended by Yasser Ali Al Shehhi, Director of the East Coast Office at the General Authority for Ports, Borders and Free Zones Security Deputy Chairman of the Committee, and members of the Committee, Colonel Ibrahim Saif Al Zaabi, Commander of the Northern Sector, led by the Border Guard Group.

Challenges

During the meeting, the committee reviewed a number of topics on the agenda, including the results of the annual audit of the land ports of the Emirate of Sharjah for the year 2021. Challenges were identified and the necessary recommendations were taken to address them and enhance strengths to ensure access to the ideal ports. The committee also discussed the possibility of activating audit booths. Implementation of recommendations

Al-Raisi indicated the committee’s keenness to achieve the goals for which it was established through permanent work to raise the efficiency and readiness of the border crossings and areas at the emirate level, as well as monitoring challenges and developing appropriate solutions to them and following up on the recommendations emanating from the committee, with the aim of developing work mechanisms and improving the services provided in cooperation and coordination.
