The press service of the Planetarium Center of Russia announced that the country’s residents will enjoy watching a special astronomical phenomenon next August.
A recent statement issued by the center said, “Residents of the Russian regions will be able to clearly witness the phenomenon of the Perseid meteor shower next month. The meteor shower will reach its peak on the night of August 13, and from midnight until dawn, people will notice about 110 meteor showers per hour.”
The statement added, “People can clearly observe this phenomenon in the mentioned period from open spaces devoid of city lighting, and if the weather conditions are suitable and the sky is not overcast, the Perseid meteor shower will be among the most prominent meteor showers this year.”
The Perseids meteor phenomenon is a phenomenon that the inhabitants of the Earth usually observe between July 17 and August 24, and they see meteor showers in the sky. These meteors consist of the debris of the comet “Swift-Tuttle” that reaches the Earth’s atmosphere and burns in it, forming falling fireballs.
The phenomenon was called by this name in relation to the constellation Perseus or Perseus, “The Bearer of the Head of Ghul”, which appears to be emitted from it.
