France decided to give Tunisia an additional 500,000 doses of Corona vaccines, which will raise the number of doses given to more than one million, in addition to medical equipment and oxygen.
The Tunisian presidency stated on its official website on “Facebook” that “President of the Republic, Kais Saied, received today, Thursday at Carthage Palace, Mr. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne, Secretary of State to the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs in charge of Tourism, the French Abroad and Francophonie, who was carrying a written message addressed to the President State by Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic.
She added that during the meeting, the President of Tunisia praised “the distinguished friendship between the two countries, which was recently embodied by France sending various medical equipment and supplies, vaccine doses and quantities of oxygen to support Tunisia’s efforts to confront the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus.”
The Tunisian presidency stated that “Mr. Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne stated that President Emmanuel Macron had assigned him to renew the expression of the solidarity of the French people with the Tunisian people in this exceptional health circumstance. On the occasion, he announced his country’s decision to grant Tunisia a new batch of 500,000 doses of vaccines against Covid-19, which Which will raise the number of doses given to more than one million doses, in addition to medical equipment and oxygen that will arrive today, Thursday.
The presidency stressed that “the meeting was an occasion to affirm Tunisia and France’s adherence to the need for concerted international efforts to ensure an effective and comprehensive response to the current health crisis, in implementation of Security Council Resolution 2532 of 2020, which was adopted by a joint initiative between the two countries.”
