The Umm Al Quwain Fishermen’s Cooperative Society has confirmed the success of the “Fish Mothers Incubators in Umm Al Quwain Khor” project, despite the high temperatures and the effects of other natural factors.
The head of the association’s board of directors, Jassim Humaid Al-Sharr, said that the studies conducted on the project to preserve fish mothers in incubators, which were put up in Umm Al Quwain Khor, revealed that the numbers inside those incubators are estimated at 98% of the number that was raised last February, which It helps to continue preserving these mothers and benefiting from them in the coming seasons to be a source for laying eggs, with the addition of other varieties. He pointed out that the next season will witness the addition of four species that were not introduced before, in order to compensate for some depletion of the emirate’s fish stocks and to preserve these species from extinction. It is noteworthy that the “Fish Mothers Incubators in Umm Al Quwain Creek” project is being carried out in cooperation with the Umm Al Quwain Department of Economic Development and the Municipality Department.
