The price of the euro stabilized against the Egyptian pound, today, Sunday, July 25, 2021, in the Central Bank of Egypt and commercial banks.
Today, the first working day of Egyptian banks after a long vacation that extended for about a week, on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Adha.
The average price of the European euro in Egypt with the Central Bank of Egypt settled at 18.46 pounds for purchase and 18.58 pounds for sale.
At the National Bank of Egypt (the largest governmental bank), the price of the euro stabilized at 18.36 pounds for purchase and 18.55 pounds for sale.
In Banque Misr (the second largest governmental bank), the euro recorded 18.37 pounds for purchase and 18.52 pounds for sale.
As for the Commercial International Bank (the largest private bank in Egypt), the price of the euro recorded 18.40 pounds for purchase and 21.62 pounds for sale.
Yesterday, the Committee for Automatic Pricing of Petroleum Products in Egypt decided to raise gasoline prices by 25 piasters for the three types of gasoline prevalent in Egypt.
The selling price of gasoline products of all three types has been adjusted so that the price of gasoline 80 is about 6.75 pounds per liter, the price of gasoline 92 is about 8 pounds per liter, and the price of gasoline 95 is about 9 pounds per liter.
The committee also decided to fix the selling price of diesel at 6.75 pounds per liter, and decided to fix the selling price of diesel for the industrial sector at 3900 pounds per ton.
The prices of gasoline dealt in Egypt before today’s decision were: 8.75 pounds per liter of 95 gasoline, 7.75 pounds per liter of 92nd gasoline, and 6.50 pounds per liter of 80th gasoline.
The decision is linked to international oil prices, which have risen recently, while the dollar exchange rate is witnessing clear stability.
Earlier, the Central Bank of Egypt said that remittances from workers abroad increased by 10.5% on an annual basis in the first 10 months of the last fiscal year 2020/2021.
He pointed out that preliminary figures show that Egypt’s real GDP growth amounted to 2.9% during the first quarter of 2021, up from 2% during the previous quarter.
“The real GDP growth rate is expected to rise, partly driven by the positive impact of the base year,” the bank said.
The price of the dollar and sterling in Egypt
The price of the dollar at the Central Bank of Egypt recorded 15.64 pounds for purchase and 15.73 pounds for sale.
The average price of the pound sterling at the Central Bank settled at 21.53 pounds for purchase and 21.68 pounds for sale.
The riyal, the dirham, and the dinar
The average price of the Saudi riyal continued to be stable at the Central Bank of Egypt at 4.16 pounds for purchase, and 4.19 pounds for sale.
In the National Bank, the price of the Saudi riyal stabilized at 4.16 pounds for purchase and 4.19 pounds for sale.
The same price was repeated in the “Misr” and “CIB” banks.
The average price of the UAE dirham reached 4.257 pounds for purchase and 4.285 pounds for sale.
The average price of the Kuwaiti dinar at the Central Bank reached 52 pounds for purchase and 52.34 pounds for sale.
