During a meeting with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, on the sidelines of their participation in the International Conference on Central and South Asia, which will be held tomorrow in Uzbekistan, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi stressed that his country attaches great importance to the comprehensive strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia, stressing that China firmly supports the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in protecting the Kingdom. its sovereignty and security, and it opposes external forces that point the finger at it under the banner of human rights and democracy and that interfere in the internal affairs of Saudi Arabia.
He said China will continue to provide assistance to Saudi Arabia in the fight against COVID-19, support Saudi Vision 2030, the “Green Saudi Arabia” and “Green Middle East” initiatives, and enhance cooperation between China and Saudi Arabia in areas such as energy, investment and finance.
Wang stressed that he is confident that Saudi Arabia, as an important power in the Islamic world, can make positive contributions to the political settlement of the Afghan issue.
In turn, the Saudi foreign minister said that China is a strong partner of Saudi Arabia, and that Saudi Arabia will firmly support China on issues related to China’s sovereignty, and said that Saudi Arabia hopes to strengthen communication and coordination with China on Afghanistan, the Iranian nuclear issue and other issues.
