America considers the adoption of a Security Council resolution on the Syrian “Bab al-Hawa” crossing a good example of working with Russia

Washington considered the adoption of a UN Security Council resolution regarding the flow of aid through one of the Syrian crossings, as a good example of diplomatic cooperation with Russia, and hoped to continue working in this spirit.

“Above all, it must be noted that this outcome (the resolution) was possible due to the joint diplomatic work undertaken by the United States and Russia to draft an agreement that meets the requirements of the international law,” Deputy US envoy to the United Nations, Jeffrey Prescott, said today, Saturday, in a press briefing. the urgent humanitarian needs of the Syrian people.

The decision stipulates extending the operation of the Bab al-Hawa border crossing for a period of six months, i.e. until January 10, 2022, with the possibility of extending it for another six months, i.e. until July 10, 2022, provided that a detailed report is submitted by the Secretary-General, confirming On the transparency of cross-border operations and progress in ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid across lines of communication to meet the humanitarian needs of Syrians.
