Al-Rami announces a state of tourist emergency in light of the loss of diesel fuel

The head of the Syndicate of Owners of Restaurants, Cafes, Nightclubs and Patisserie in Lebanon, Tony Al-Rami, announced, “The state of tourist emergency, in light of the loss of diesel fuel even on the black market, warning against closing tourist establishments within the next 48 hours.”

He pointed out in a statement, “Electricity and generators are two basic needs for restaurant establishments to maintain raw materials and food safety and to prepare lunch and dinner meals. If necessary, the owners of restaurant establishments will resort to relying on one of the two meals, either lunch or dinner, which will inevitably lead to disaster.”

He appealed to those concerned to “move immediately to find a solution to this dilemma in the midst of the tourist season that drives Lebanon’s economic cycle.”
