After Eid feasts.. how to purify your body and get rid of toxins

After the end of the Eid al-Adha period and eating fatty meat and starches in large quantities, we need to improve the digestion process and rid the body of toxins.

Some foods help get rid of these toxins in the body and improve general health and weight loss as well, through a process called “detox”.

There is also a definite need for an occasional detox for people who have a busy lifestyle and consume unhealthy foods.

And “detox” is a natural way to cleanse the body of toxins with natural foods and drinks, and according to a report on the “Only My Health” website, these foods include:

1) broccoli

Eating broccoli helps the body fight cancer-causing chemicals and enhances the liver’s ability to remove those nasty chemicals from our bodies.

2) grapefruit

Grapefruit contains several nutrients including vitamins A, C and B1, as well as pantothenic acid, fiber, potassium and biotin. The enzymes in grapefruit also break down fats in your body to help promote weight loss.

3) Avocado

Avocado contains antioxidants that help your body expel harmful toxins, and it contains several beneficial nutrients, as it contains about 20 different vitamins and minerals that help reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes and heart disease.

4) beets

Beets are a vegetable that is high in antioxidants and also rich in nutrients. Beets contain betaine, which helps the liver to eliminate toxins, as well as a fiber called pectin that removes toxins that have been removed from the liver.

5) spinach

Spinach is low in calories, yet full of beneficial nutrients. It contains vitamins A, C, E, and K as well as thiamin, folate, calcium, iron and magnesium. The flavonoids present in spinach help prevent cholesterol oxidation in the body by acting as antioxidants.
