Inform the security authorities who attended and initiated the incident and opened an investigation file

A hospital in Makkah witnessed; Today, an incident of assault on three health practitioners; – Two consultants and a resident doctor – by auditors, which necessitated the intervention of the security guards in the hospital itself, and informing the security authorities, which in turn attended and initiated the incident and opened an investigation file.

back details; As narrated by one of the Saudi consultants who were attacked – he preferred not to be named – where he said to “Previously”: While we were practicing our medical work in one of the departments at Al-Noor Specialist Hospital in Makkah, today, I have a consultant and a resident doctor, who are also Saudis, and a group of auditors entered us. With the aim of seeing their deceased relative – may God have mercy on him – before placing him in the mortuary in the hospital, they entered into a verbal argument with the consultant that developed into a verbal and physical assault together without knowing the reasons that prompted them to do so.

He added: When the resident doctor and I intervened with the aim of disengaging the clash, they beat us and uttered words that we would not mention here; This necessitated the intervention of the security guards in the hospital itself, and the security authorities were informed, which in turn thankfully attended and opened an investigation file into the incident.

Speaking to “Previously”, the consultant indicated that as a result of the attack, one of the consultants sustained bruises on his hands, and he was admitted to the emergency department of the hospital to receive treatment, which is proven by the department.

He pointed out that if the intervention had not been taken to resolve the dispute over the consultant in front of the eyes of the patients and his colleagues, the attack would have been greater than that.

He stressed that a report was made for that incident, and it is part of the assault on health practitioners, and it is a crime punishable by law. Pointing out that they will continue their complaints to take their legal rights after the assault they were subjected to in front of patients; From hitting, verbally assaulting, and threatening.

The Ministry of Health had confirmed that verbally or physically assaulting a health practitioner is a crime punishable by imprisonment for up to (10) years, and a fine of up to one million riyals.

The ministry indicated earlier that everyone can take their rights by contacting the rights and relations of patients, or by calling 937.
