Hisham Hatab, head of the Egyptian Olympic Committee and head of the delegation participating in the Olympic Games currently being held in the Japanese capital, Tokyo, decided to disburse an immediate reward of five thousand dollars to each of Hedaya Malak and Seif Issa, the Egyptian taekwondo players, after they won the first two medals for Egypt in the Olympics.

The media center of the Egyptian mission in Tokyo stated on Monday that Hatab’s decision comes after the duo won the bronze medal in the weight of 67 kilograms and 80, respectively.

As soon as the players arrived at the Olympic Village headquarters, Hatab decided to give each player the amount of the immediate reward to encourage them for what the duo had done.

Hedaya Malak won the bronze medal in the women’s singles in the 67-kg weight category, after defeating the American Peggy McPherson 17-6, while Saif Issa won the bronze medal in the men’s singles competitions after defeating Norway’s Ardoman 12-4.
