The Twitter founder’s remarks came during his participation in the “Bitcoin 2021 Miami” conference, the largest event of its kind on Bitcoin in the history of cryptocurrency at all.
“I would like to spend the rest of my life working on making Bitcoin accessible to everyone,” said Dorsey, who also owns the financial technology company Square. “If I hadn’t worked at both Twitter and Square, I would have worked on the Bitcoin project.” .
And Dorsey expressed his willingness to provide any: “help that would elevate Bitcoin, even if it cost him to abandon both Twitter and Square.”
He added: “If Bitcoin needs help more than Twitter and Square, I would leave them for Bitcoin, but I think both companies have a role.. We have no interests other than making sure that we build a native currency for the Internet, and help in every way we can in this regard. Therefore, all other coins are not a consideration for me at all.”
Dorsey then turned to the economic side of bitcoin, saying: “Just look at the economic side of that currency..Bitcoin miners eventually have to make a profit..getting cheap renewable energy increases their potential to make a profit. Really that simple.”
“I absolutely believe that over time, Bitcoin will incentivize more renewable energy and give people more freedom to turn unused and wasted energy into something that actually creates value for billions of people around the world,” he added.
The Twitter founder concluded his comments about Bitcoin by saying, “The realization that we finally have a currency that can be traded at any point on the planet we live in is pretty incredible.”
The “Bitcoin 2021” conference, held in Miami, Florida, USA, which includes thousands of entrepreneurs and influential figures in the business world, will hold panel discussions, discussing the future of cryptocurrencies, and their various effects.
