“When will Saudi clubs become like the rest of the world?”

Sports journalist Muhammad Al-Dawish raised a question after the failure of the majority of the Saudi Professional League clubs to obtain a certificate of financial efficiency, expressing his astonishment at the failure of public clubs to spend on themselves without government support.

Today, Thursday, the Financial Efficiency Committee of the Ministry of Sports issued the clubs’ position on debt, which clarified that only three clubs are free of obligations. (see details)

Al-Duweish wrote, through his official account on the social networking site “Twitter”: “Our public clubs failed to spend on themselves, so the government was forced to spend on them along with well-known and unknown honorees! But for how long?”

He added: “All the fan clubs in the world boast of their revenue figures, and our clubs boast of supportive figures!”
