The matches of the “Euro 2020” championship, postponed from last year due to the Corona pandemic “Covid-19”, began yesterday, Friday, June 11, and will continue until July 11, in 11 cities, namely: Amsterdam, Baku, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Glasgow, London, Munich, Rome, Seville, in addition to Petersburg, which will host 7 matches, 6 of which are in the group stage, in addition to one match in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Russia has provided all facilities for foreign visitors to attend the “Euro 2020” matches that will be held on its territory. The organizing committee of the European Championship in Petersburg announced, in an official statement, that fans will be allowed to enter during the tournament to Russian territory without a visa, and it is sufficient for ticket holders for matches in Petersburg To enter the Russian territory, obtain a “fan ID” and a negative PCR test result.
The facilities include UEFA delegations, staff involved in tournament preparation and management, match participants, media representatives and volunteers.
The first match will be held today in Petersburg, and the Russian team and its Belgian counterpart will gather at the “Gazprom” stadium, as part of the second group competition, which also includes the teams of Denmark and Finland.
It is noteworthy that the champions and runners-up of each of the eight groups qualify for the quarter-finals, in addition to the four best third-placed teams.
