The Syrian national team accomplished its mission against its counterpart from Guam by defeating it 3-0 in the match that brought them together today, Monday, in the double qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and the 2023 Asian Cup in China.

Syrian striker Mardik Mardekian scored two early goals for his country, in the 6 and 9 minutes of the first half, and then his fellow striker Mahmoud Al-Mawas scored the third goal, by the 84th minute of the meeting, which was held on the grounds of the Sharjah Club Stadium in the Emirates.

After this victory, the Syrian national team strengthened its place on the top spot in the first group of qualifiers with a full score of 21 points, after achieving 7 consecutive victories, thus ensuring its qualification to the third round of qualifiers.

Guam, meanwhile, suffered the seventh defeat in a row, and thus is in the last fifth place without points.
