Shamil Lakhialov, president of Legion Dynamo, on Thursday made an offer to retired Russian martial arts champion Habib Nurmagomedov to join the club’s football team. Legion Dynamo is one of the clubs in the city of Makhachkala, the capital of the Russian Republic of Dagestan, Habib’s hometown, and the club’s football team is active in the third division of Russia.
Lakhialov, the club’s president, posted on “Instagram” a picture of Habib, and attached it to his invitation to join the club’s football team, noting that the contract was ready and only needed to put the amount of money and sign. Lakhialov’s initiative came in response to Habib’s post earlier today, when he posted a video clip while playing football with his friends, in which he mentioned the “Legion Dynamo” club, saying, “I need motivation, my brothers.”
Habib announced his retirement from mixed martial arts, on October 24, 2020, after winning a fight against American Justin Gage in the Emirati capital Abu Dhabi, as part of the UFC 254 Championship, after achieving 29 victories, without being defeated.
