The number of vaccine doses provided in Turkey to combat the Corona virus exceeded the threshold of 32 million doses, as part of a vaccination campaign launched by the Ministry of Health at the beginning of this year.
According to the data of the Turkish Ministry of Health, today, Thursday, the number of recipients of the first dose of vaccines reached 18 million and 558 thousand and 403 people, and the second dose of 13 million and 453 thousand and 887 people.
The Ministry stated that the number of vaccine doses provided in Turkey amounted to 32 million and 12 thousand and 290 doses.
Yesterday, Wednesday, Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca announced that, as of Thursday, citizens over the age of 45 will be vaccinated with the Corona vaccine, noting that by next Monday, all citizens over the age of 40 will be included in the vaccination program.
The Turkish Foundation for Medicines and Medical Devices approves 3 vaccines for emergency use, namely, the Russian “Sputnik V”, the Chinese “Sinovac”, and the German-American “Biontech-Pfizer”.
On January 14, Turkey launched a vaccination campaign against Corona, which started with health workers, then the elderly, as part of a priority schedule for the segments that will be vaccinated.
