A number of the affected Syrians and Lebanese gathered in one of the halls of the North Governorate, where compensation was paid to them under the supervision of a delegation from the Syrian embassy and in the presence of a number of actors and representatives of parties.

On May 20, a major dispute occurred between Lebanese youths and a group of Syrian citizens who were organizing a rally in support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, north of the Lebanese capital, while they were on their way to cast their votes at their country’s embassy in Yarzeh, Baabda.

Lebanese youths took down pictures, flags and banners supporting Assad, and video clips showed clashing, jostling and smashing car windows.
