The Egyptian producer, Sarah Al-Tabbakh, through her legal representative, Counselor Yasser Kantoush, issued a warning to the Syndicate of Acting Professions headed by the Egyptian artist Ashraf Zaki, in protest against the participation of the artist, Mohamed Al-Sharnoubi, in a theatrical work called “What is in the pod, Hawi”.

Sarah Al-Tabbakh’s objection to this participation is due to the contract concluded between her and Al-Sharnoubi, which gives her the right to contract on behalf of the latter.

Sarah Al-Tabbakh’s lawyer said, in televised statements, that he had submitted another warning to the Artistic Works Censorship Authority, in objection to the same matter, commenting that “he is waiting for a response from them as responsible bodies that have to make a decision, because the decision to stop the performance of the play is not his own.”

Sarah Al-Tabbakh’s lawyer added that his client, according to the text of the contract with Muhammad Al-Sharnoubi, has a percentage in all his contracts that he concluded without her, stressing that within 3 months from now she will get all her rights.

And Yasser Kantoush indicated that he submitted an opposition to the ruling against Sarah Al-Tabbakh, and the judge imprisoned her for 3 years in absentia in favor of Muhammad Al-Sharnoubi, adding that the appeal was accepted, provided that the litigation continues.

A few days ago, an Egyptian court upheld the prison sentence of Sarah Al-Tabbakh, 3 years in absentia, on charges of “squandering the money of the artist Mohamed Al-Sharnoubi and breach of trust.”
