Al-Nasr Saudi club is intensifying its efforts to include a new goalkeeper in the current summer Mercato, who will be an alternative to Australian Brad Jones.
Al-Nasr announced about 3 weeks ago the departure of Jones from his ranks at the end of the season, after 3 seasons he spent within his walls, during which he led him to achieve the Saudi Professional League title in his first season 2018-2019, and the Saudi Super twice in 2019 and 2020.
Saudi reports revealed that Al-Nassr entered into strong negotiations with the South Korean club, Ulsan Hyundai, to include its giant goalkeeper, Jun Hyun Woo, in the summer Mercato.
Reports confirmed that the international goalkeeper drew attention to him strongly in recent years with his brilliance, whether with Ulsan or with the South Korean team, who was his main goalkeeper in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, and he performed with him during the tournament despite his failure to qualify for the round of 16.
Hyun’s most prominent match in the World Cup in Russia was against Germany, when he led the Koreans, with his heroic performance, to withstand the defending champion and beat him 2-0 in the last matches of the two teams in the group stage, to oust him outside the tournament in a historic surprise of caliber.
And the newspaper “Saudi” quoted the player’s agent, Fahd Sareh, that Al-Nasr is preparing a big offer to lure the goalkeeper to agree to join “Al-Alam” and also persuade his club to abandon him, so that Ulsan will be given $3 million, while the goalkeeper will receive an annual salary of 2.5 million dollars.
The newspaper pointed out that this salary may tempt Al-Hari to agree, given that he is about one and a half times more than his current salary with Ulsan, which is estimated at one million dollars annually.
It is noteworthy that Hyun played 19 matches with Ulsan this season in the Korean League, during which he conceded 17 goals, while he came out with 9 clean sheets.
Saudi victory deals in 2021
Al-Nasr club has already managed to settle two deals during the summer Mercato so far, as it included Brazilian midfielder Anderson Taliska from the Chinese team Guangzhou, and Cameroonian striker Vincent Abubakar in a free transfer deal after the expiration of his contract with Turkey’s Besiktas.
The name of the world was also associated with several Arab and international stars, including Mahmoud Hamdi Al-Wansh, the Egyptian defender of Zamalek, who renewed his contract with his club (Sunday), as well as the Brazilian defender Sydney da Silva, the Spanish player of Real Betis.
While Chilean reports revealed that the Saudi club is planning another high-caliber deal by including Arturo Vidal, the Italian star of Inter Milan and the Chilean national team, and that there are contacts with the player’s agent in this regard.
