The General Organization for Social Insurance confirmed that the decision of the Council of Ministers to include the social insurance system for all workers in ministries and government agencies who are not subject to the civil retirement system, began to be applied as of the date of the issuance of the decision and does not apply to previous periods.

The Assistant Governor for Insurance Affairs at the Corporation, Nader bin Ibrahim Al-Wahaibi, said: The decision comes into consideration for workers who are not covered by the civil retirement system, through which it will preserve their rights to obtain the benefits due, whether the compensation provided by the Corporation is retirement pensions, compensation for occupational hazards, or Unemployment “Sand”.

He stressed that the decision has been implemented as of its date and does not apply to the periods prior to the issuance of this decision, indicating that registration will be available through the electronic services of social insurance, which is also available to ministries and government agencies to register their workers.

He added: The participation rate in the General Organization for Social Insurance system is 10% for the contributor, and 12% for the employer, which includes participation in the branches of social insurance “pensions, risks, and unemployment.”
