Saudi Olympic signs memorandum of understanding with NEOM

The President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, and the CEO of NEOM, Eng. Nazmi Al-Nasr, signed today; A memorandum of understanding between the Saudi Olympic and NEOM Company for a period of five years, in the office of the President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee in Jeddah.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal said: The signing of the agreement with a company the size of NEOM will contribute to the development of Saudi sports in general, and competitiveness in particular. The private sector being an important element to raise the level of the sports sector, especially as the Kingdom is on the verge of hosting international tournaments and championships in various sports, God willing.

Al-Faisal revealed that the memorandum aims to enhance ways of joint cooperation between the two parties, and that the agreement stipulates that the two sides share their sports strategy regarding competitive games to align priorities and focus on sports, and develop the competitive sports ecosystem, to ensure NEOM’s contribution to achieving the goals of the Saudi Olympic Committee, and the work of a laboratory Concepts, *and the Sports Innovation Center* in NEOM.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki indicated that the agreement stressed the strengthening of cooperation between the two parties; To develop specific centers of excellence for the sports that NEOM will host, design and build all sports properties, as well as host international sporting events, and establish an events working group with representatives of the Ministry of Sports and the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee to ensure the alignment of sporting events hosted by the Kingdom to achieve Vision 2030.

Commenting on this partnership with the Saudi Olympic, Engineer Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, said: “This partnership is an extension of our strategy to make NEOM a global sports destination that creates innovative investment opportunities and creates new concepts for healthy lifestyles, and this cooperation confirms the harmony of ambitions. And the aspirations between the Olympics and NEOM and its great reflection – God willing – on strengthening NEOM’s position as a modern capital for global sports.”
