The Saudi publishing house enjoys legal and financial independence, and an independent governance system. In addition, it aims to support the publishing industry in the Kingdom and contribute to its development, enrich the cultural scene with qualitative works of sustainable impact, support publishers, practitioners, cultural bodies and relevant authorities in the publishing sector, and target book marketing. Saudi Arabia and its distribution locally and globally.
The Saudi publishing house will provide all its services in partnership with qualified entities in the Saudi publishing sector, with a focus on supporting small and emerging publishing houses, local presses, Saudi practitioners, and institutions specialized in the fields of publishing and authorship, and investing in modern publishing technologies.
The “Saudi Publishing House” initiative is one of the initiatives announced by the Ministry of Culture at its launch ceremony, as part of its project to advance the cultural sector in the Kingdom, while the Literature, Publishing and Translation Authority was established with the aim of creating a creative environment that allows high-level literary and translation production, and will contribute to regulating the publishing industry. It contributes to training, development and creating investment opportunities in the fields of literature, publishing and translation.
The Authority’s vision revolves around three pillars: a renewed literary wealth, a developed publishing industry, and professional translation activity. Its mission focuses on providing the possible environment for the leadership of Saudi literature in a way that ignites the creativity of the writer and the quality of the product, the experience of the recipient and the support of the publishing industry in Saudi Arabia in order to achieve investment attractiveness, global competitiveness, and the development of translation activity in terms of quantity and quality according to the highest standards that enhance international cultural exchange, and enrich Arab knowledge content. In addition to relying on effective partnerships, qualified competencies, and innovative technologies to consolidate sustainable institutional work.
