Samsung Electronics has halted production of one of its mid-range phones due to a lack of chips, South Korea’s Electronic Times reported, in the latest indication of global semiconductor supply problems. The suspension of the Galaxy S21 Fan release came due to the lack of Qualcomm application processors, according to the report, citing an unknown person in the industry, according to (Al Arabiya Net).

Samsung had been aiming to launch the less expensive version of the Galaxy S21 in August, and a company spokesperson declined to comment.

It is close to completing its first project in the Phosphate 3 expansion, and Samsung has warned that it is grappling with the repercussions of a “serious disruption to the world’s semiconductor supply.”

“Samsung may suspend the launch of the S21 FE phone model as the chip shortage may not be resolved soon,” the report said.
