Novak Djokovic defeats Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final of the “Roland Garros” after a marathon match.
Serbian Novak Djokovic, the first seed, won the Roland Garros tennis tournament, the second Grand Slam of the season, for the second time in his career, by defeating Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final.
Tsitsipas was heading to win by leading in the first two sets, but Djokovic returned and won three sets and decided the match that lasted more than 4 hours with a score of 6-7 (6-8), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4.
This is the nineteenth title that the Serbian player crowned in major tournaments.
The world number one in an unprecedented feat became the first modern tennis player to win all the major titles twice.
And now Djokovic needs one grand slam title to equal Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal, each with 20 titles.
