Riyadh Newspaper | Saudi Arabia is a member of the International Lacrosse Federation


The International Lacrosse Federation has officially approved the Saudi Lacrosse Federation’s membership as the 70th member. The membership application submitted by the Saudi Lacrosse Federation was approved by a majority during the membership vote of the International Lacrosse Federation following unanimous recommendations from the Development Committee and the Board of Directors.

For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Lacrosse Federation, Mr. Yazid bin Fahd Al-Rasheed, confirmed that this step is an important stage in the federation’s march, and said: “Within less than a year since the establishment of the federation and its approval by the Olympic Committee, today we were able to obtain the recognition of the International Federation.”

He added: “On behalf of the members of the Board of Directors and the Federation’s affiliates, I extend my sincere thanks and gratitude to His Highness the Minister of Sports, President of the Olympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, and to His Highness, the Vice President of the Olympic Committee, Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz, for providing all possible means of support to the Federation, which contributed to what has been achieved today. It is an extension of the support and great interest that Saudi sport receives from our wise leadership on an ongoing basis.”
