Report revealed that iOS 15 will include more powerful spatial audio controls and more detailed information sharing through the volume slider.
It includes some other new features that are coming to AirPods This fall, the AirPods Pro’s “conversation booster” tool that Apple says will help those with “mild” hearing problems, and a “notification announcement” that will read your priority notifications, engadget reported.
At WWDC 2021, Apple revealed that it will update tvOS and M1 Macs later this year to allow AirPods Pro and Max owners to take advantage of Spatial Audio, but it didn’t provide many details about how it plans to implement the feature on those systems.
Apple told Engadget that the feature will work with stereo, 5.1, 7.1, and Dolby Atmos content, so whether you’re using a pair of AirPods Pro or AirPods Max, the software that powers the feature will expand the audio range so that it looks like the room you’re in is full of sound.
“When you sit down to watch a movie or TV show, the built-in head tracking feature will be installed after it detects that you’ve been looking in the same direction for a while, as soon as you get up to walk around, it will be reactivated,” the report said.
“It’s easy to connect AirPods to an Apple TV in this context, when you’re near the device with headphones on, it will display a popup that allows you to quickly connect, and you don’t need to look in the settings menu,” the report added.
