Prince Tamim inaugurates Qatar Economic Forum under the slogan “New Horizons for Tomorrow” | Qatar news


The first edition of the Forum will be attended by many heads of state and government, as well as more than 100 speakers from all over the world.

Today, Monday afternoon, the activities of the first edition of the Qatar Economic Forum, which will be held via video communication technology and will last for 3 days, began, amid great local and international participation.

In his speech via video during the opening session of the forum, the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, said that the world has not yet moved to the post-Corona pandemic stage.

Sheikh Tamim added during the forum, which is held in cooperation with Bloomberg under the slogan “New Horizons for Tomorrow”, that the state’s role is indispensable in overcoming the challenges associated with the Corona pandemic, noting that it was directed to adopt a 3-axis strategy to confront the pandemic in Qatar.

The Emir of the State of Qatar called on world leaders for more cooperation for the just and comprehensive distribution of the Corona vaccine.

Many heads of state and government will participate in the first edition of the forum, including Ghanaian President Nana Akufo, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Rwandan President Paul Kagame, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Senegalese President Macky Sall, and Armenian President Armen Sarkissian, as well as more than 100 speakers from all over the world.

The Forum will also host a global elite of more than 2,000 CEOs, inspirational personalities and decision-makers in the fields of finance, economics, investment, technology, energy, education, sports and climate, who will work together to identify opportunities, provide solutions and rethink the global economic landscape from the perspective of the Middle East.

Forum axes

The forum’s agenda includes 6 main themes: “Advanced Technology”, which will highlight the permanent changes in the relationship between humans and technology, “A sustainable world”, which will explore the intersection of capitalism and climate, and “Markets and Investment” will discuss the ability of investors, in their relentless pursuit Growth opportunities will help shape a more resilient global economy, and the “energy flows and trade” axis brings together global energy brokers to share their future vision, while the “changing consumer” axis deals with the future of trade, and a more inclusive world to provide ideas on the recovery of societies after the Corona pandemic.

The Qatar Economic Forum aims to prepare plans that support the growth of the global economy during the post-pandemic phase, and to highlight the efforts of the State of Qatar to lead economic growth, achieve comprehensive development goals, and consolidate its position as one of the most important investment destinations regionally and globally.
