“A life that is shared and dedicated to the lofty goal of love can change the world,” said His Holiness Pope Francis in his video message to members of the “John 17 Movement”

On the occasion of the convening of the spiritual exercise of the “John 17 Movement” at St. Joseph’s Seminary in New York in the United States of America, under the title “Relational Reconciliation, a New Path for Christian Reconciliation”, His Holiness Francis sent a video message to the participants in which he said that the “John 17 Movement” centers on love between People who gather together around the table and discover that they are brothers, not because of their colour, or their nationality, or the different forms in which they live their faith, but because they are children of the same Father.

Pope Francis continued, saying that love does not require deep theological knowledge, although it is necessary. Love is a life encounter first with the Lord Jesus, with the person of Jesus, and from this encounter of love, friendship, brotherhood and the certainty that we are children of the same Father are born. A life that is shared and dedicated to the lofty goal of love can change the world; Together in love, we Christians can change the world because God is love!

I urge you to continue to walk together through the sharing of life and brotherly love. The “John 17 Movement” and the testimony you shared with me every time we met, gives me hope and joy. As Joe Tosini says, love is the most important thing in the world, yet no one teaches us how to love! Perhaps because love is not taught, it is lived, and you teach us by living it.

Pope Francis concluded by saying, may God bless you, and to the near meeting! And please do not forget to pray for me because my ministry is never easy. Bye!
