(MENAFN – Al Watan) is a new cosmic mission, for which the American agency NASA is preparing, to break decades, that was spent in attempts to explore one of the planets neighboring the Earth, which is Venus, about which little is known to a large extent until now. Things are on the verge of a miraculous change.. This was expressed by the latest announcement from NASA, which included the disclosure of the launch of two ambitious missions between 2028 and 2030, in a great breakthrough described as exciting among space scientists.
Space scientists believe that the exciting mission is to explore Venus, whose atmosphere contains sulfuric acid, and its surface temperatures are hot enough to melt lead, and these harsh surface conditions are one of the reasons why previous planetary exploration missions have avoided Venus, as the The high temperature represents a very high pressure of about one kilometer underwater, enough to instantly crush most lander landers.
Previous explorations of Venus, mostly by the Soviet Union, were carried out between the 1960s and 1980s. The first landing was in 1970, when the Soviet plane Venera 7 crashed due to a melting parachute, but managed to transmit 20 minutes of data back to Earth.
The two expected missions make studying the history of the planet and the impact of global warming and learning how to manage it on Earth, as well as using models that draw the extremes of the atmosphere of Venus, and compare the results with what we see on Earth. The camera with a wavelength will look for signs of water vapor, as previous missions showed that the main elements emerging from the atmosphere of Venus are hydrogen and oxygen, so if there is any water, it will be in trace amounts or deep in the surface, and radar will be used via a widely used technology. On Earth observation satellites, to simulate a very large active radio receiver, to bring in high-resolution images, and to establish a more detailed map to verify the surface evolution of Venus.MENAFN06062021000089011017ID1102222928
