Christie’s auction house will display online from next week the famous 17th century Mona Lisa Hecking, whose owner, Raymond Hecking, claimed in the 1960s to be the original Leonardo da Vinci painting, according to “Agence France Presse”.

This painting made international news after this passionate collector acquired it from an antiques dealer in the region of Nice (southern France), as indicated by the auction house.

Its price is estimated between 200,000 and 300,000 euros. The auction will be held from June 11 to June 18 on the House’s website.

It is noteworthy that the owner of the painting “Raymond Hecking”, who is passionate about art, continued to defend the originality of this painting until the sixties. He questioned the authenticity of the painting kept in the Louvre and asked the museum to prove that Leonardo da Vinci had created it.
