The Polish Football Association announced the absence of Arkadiusz Milik from the team in the European Nations Cup (Euro 2020), which begins next Friday.

The Polish Football Association stated that Milek, 27, suffered an injury during the team’s camp in the Polish city of Opalenka, to miss the tournament.

In its statement, the federation said that the medical staff of the Polish national team is aware that Milik’s injury is not serious in itself, but the pain that the player suffered may not end before the start of the tournament.

The Polish Federation confirmed that the player underwent treatment on more than one occasion, according to a specific plan that allows him to participate in full training with his colleagues, but to no avail.

The Polish Federation stated that Milik left the team’s camp to return to his club, which will take other steps in his treatment journey.

The Portuguese coach, Paulo Sousa, also decided not to call any other player to replace Milik in the team’s squad.

The Polish national team is in Group E in the tournament, along with Spain, Sweden and Slovakia.
