Argentine international Lionel Messi opened the scoring record for his country in the match that brought Argentina and Chile in the first round of the Copa America Group A competitions.
Messi opened the scoring with a perfect free kick in the 33rd minute of the match.
The Chilean team equalized the score with a goal scored by Edward Vargas in the 57th minute, after he followed up on a penalty kick by Artur Vidal, which was saved by the Argentine goalkeeper.
Argentina and Chile are in Group A along with Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia.
Brazil will host the Copa America, which was scheduled to be hosted by Argentina and Colombia, and postponed for a whole year due to the Corona virus, from June 13 to July 10.
