Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia inaugurated, on Wednesday, the first industrial respirator manufactured in the Kingdom, and the following is a quick overview of it, according to what was reported by the official Saudi Press Agency.

The ventilator “PB56 type, is a portable device and is widely used in home care, health care centers and hospitals for patients who do not need endotracheal intubation, and can be used at home.”

The device was manufactured according to the highest international manufacturing standards in cooperation with one of the leading international companies in the medical device industry in the world, while respirators are sensitive and life-supporting devices, God willing, and aim to help the patient by providing a safe exchange of gases, and their marketing requires approval The necessary regulatory authorities, which are carried out by submitting many technical documents containing studies and qualitative tests that support to confirm the safety of the device and its efficiency in achieving the purpose for which it was made.”

In its report, the agency stated that the device was inaugurated by “the Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Center for Industrial Development, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, and His Excellency the Minister of Health, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, in the presence of His Excellency the Adviser at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, Dr. Abdullah Al-Rabiah, His Excellency the Executive Director of Health Affairs of the National Guard, Dr. Bandar Al-Kenawi, and His Excellency the Chief Executive Officer of the Food and Drug Authority, Dr. Hisham Al-Jadhi.
