The Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sports, Adnan Darjal, sent an official invitation to the artist Kazem Al-Saher to sing in his country after a break of nearly a quarter of a century, by reviving the opening or closing ceremony of the Gulf Football Cup in Basra, which is scheduled to be held in January of 2021. next.

The invitation concluded: “We appreciate your honorable presence, which will contribute to the success of the tournament’s activities, and its impact on the Iraqi and Arab public.”

And the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports stated in a press statement, “The minister’s invitation came based on his reception by the delegation of the Iraqi International Artist Association, Kazem Al-Saher, in his office at the ministry’s headquarters last week.

The statement added that “Al-Saher represents one of the pillars of authentic Iraqi and Arab art, and his global reputation precedes him, and therefore his presence in the Gulf Championship is an important requirement as he is a national symbol of which we are proud.”

The ministry considered that “Al-Saher’s noble patriotic stances confirm that he will be the first to contribute to the success of the opening or closing ceremony of the Gulf of Basra.”
