Good news from “AstraZeneca” regarding the mutants Delta and Kappa

AstraZeneca announced in a statement, Tuesday, that its “Covid 19 vaccine is effective in preventing the delta and kappa mutations that appeared for the first time in India.”

The statement referred to a study prepared by the University of Oxford that examined the ability of monoclonal antibodies from recovered people and others who received the vaccine to neutralize the delta and kappa mutants.

An analysis by Public Health England showed that the Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines provide superior protection over 90% over hospitalization due to the delta mutant.

The company said that “the results of the latest Oxford study were based on an analysis conducted by the authority recently.”

On Friday, the chief scientist of the World Health Organization said that the delta mutant is on its way to becoming the globally dominant version of Covid-19.
